Last updated October 7, 2026 · Markora 2.1
- Markora has no accounts, no database, no ads and no tracking.
- Your Genesis password is used only to sign in to Genesis for you. It is never stored on a server or logged.
- Your grades, schedule, settings and chats are saved only in your own browser.
- Markora can only read Genesis. It can't change anything there.
Who makes Markora
Markora is an independent project made by a WW-P student. It is not run by, endorsed by or connected to the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District or the makers of Genesis.
Signing in
Browsers aren't allowed to sign in to Genesis directly from another website, so Markora uses a small sign-in helper that runs on Cloudflare, the company that hosts the site. When you sign in or sync:
- Your username and password travel over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to the helper.
- The helper signs in to WW-P's Genesis server (students.ww-p.org), reads your grades, assignments and schedule, and sends those pages back to your browser.
- The password is used for that one request and then thrown away. The helper never saves it, never writes it to a log and never sends it anywhere except Genesis.
- The helper only talks to WW-P's Genesis server and only answers requests from the Markora website.
Like any website, Cloudflare may keep standard technical records such as IP addresses to run and protect the site. Those are covered by Cloudflare's own privacy policy.
What's saved on your device
- Grades, assignments and schedule, so the app opens instantly. Signing out removes them.
- Your settings and layout, like which pages and sections you show.
- Your homework list and goals, which you type in yourself.
- Your password, only if you tick "Remember my password". It's saved in this browser so Markora can check Genesis for new grades by itself, about every 20 minutes while it's open. Only tick it on a device that's yours.
- Ask Markora chats, if you use Ask Markora.
All of this stays in your browser's storage. Nothing is copied to a Markora server, because there isn't one.
Ask Markora (optional)
Ask Markora answers questions about your grades using Google's Gemini. Ask Markora only talks about grades and schedules. It doesn't help with homework, tests or writing.
When you ask a question, your browser sends Markora's server your question and a summary of your grades: course names, averages, assignment names and scores, and GPA numbers. The server adds one of Markora's own Google API keys and passes the request to Google, then passes the answer straight back. It does not save or log what you ask. It never sends your name, your Genesis username, your password or your teachers' names. Google's Gemini API terms apply to what's sent, and on Google's free tier, Google may use it to improve its products.
The Homework page also sends the note you type and the class name the same way, so it can be turned into bullet points.
Study Guides (optional)
Study Guides turns your notes, a photo of a study guide, or a topic you type into a review sheet and new practice problems using Google's Gemini. Markora's server reads your notes only to find the topics they cover, then signs that list of topics. The step that writes new problems receives only that list, never your original text or photo. Your original notes and photos are not saved on the server or on your device; only the topic list, the review sheet and the practice sets are kept in this browser. Don't put your name or other personal details in what you paste. Google's Gemini API terms apply to what's sent. The Math Lab runs entirely on your device.
Alerts
New-grade alerts are off unless you turn them on. They're shown by your own browser on your device. No notification server is involved.
Sample data
"Try it with sample data" on the sign-in screen shows a made-up student. It doesn't contact Genesis and nothing is saved.
Feedback
If you use Send Feedback, the message and whatever contact info you choose to type are sent to a Google Form that only Markora's developer can read. Nothing else is attached.
Deleting your data
- Sign Out in Settings removes your grades and saved password from the browser.
- Delete All Markora Data in Settings removes everything Markora saved, including chats and your Gemini key.
- Because there's no Markora server or account, there's nothing else to delete.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes too, and big changes appear in Markora's "What's new" note.
